It’s apple season! And luckily I get great discounts from my “apple-man” at the bazaar (I honestly don’t remember his name and so call him that in my head), so what better to do with excess apples than make some applesauce?
- 2.5 cups chopped apples (about 4 sm-med apples)
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup sugar
- to taste: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and then simmer until apples break down and mixture thickens. If you want, mash apples for less chunkiness.
