I am a runner. It’s a big part of my identity and it keeps me fit, healthy, and sane. I’ve been running for almost 10 years, since the summer before my last year of high school — I decided I wanted to “get in shape” cardiovascularly and more than just volleyball- or horseback riding-specific shape. Since that painful summer of learning how to run (thanks in large part to my mom teaching me her tricks of the trade), I’ve done road races, dabbled in track and field (in college — sprints, mid-distance, 400m hurdles), and have recently added cross country to my repertoire.

(I’ve also run away from dogs in rural Ukraine while hefting stones and shouting “іди!”.)

I’m not an amazing runner but I love how it makes me feel. I love competing against myself (and my teammates, in a friendly way) and pushing myself to get better and faster. These days, I’m a member of London Heathside AC — perks include coached track and hill workouts and group runs around lovely north London. This page serves as a place to collect all of my running-related posts — see below for more. Enjoy!
